effectivethermalconductivity(etc)ofbothtetrahydrofuran(thf)andmethanehydrate-bearingsandyporousmediawasmeasuredbythehotdiskthermalconstantanalyser.thermalconductivityofmethanehydrateis0.575wm−1k−1at0°cand6.6mpa(methanegaspressure),whichisclosetothfhydrate''s0.51wm−1k−1at0°cand0.1mpa(atmospherepressure).however,themeasured1wm−1k−1etcofmethanehydrate-bearingsandissignificantlylowerthanthatofthfhydrate-bearingsandat∼2wm−1k−1.thisisbecausethemethanehydrateformedwithasodiumdodecylsulfate(sds)solutioninsandatourlaboratoryhasa“wallcreeping”growthcharacteristicandconsequentlyalargepartoftheporeswerefilledwithmethanefreegas.etcsofsandcontaininggashydrateswerealsocalculatedusingarenormalizationmethod.theprocessinvolvessamplepartitioning,labeling,initialvalueassignments,andrenormalizationcalculations.amontecarloanalysiswasappliedtosamplelaboratory-scalegashydrate-bearingsandassemblies.wefoundthattherenormalizationmodelingresultsagreedwellwithmeasured
